CLINICAL SYNDROMES

Necrosis

-Risk: 50-60 Gy=01%-5%

-Non specific symptoms

-Tt: steroids, resection

Necrotizing

leukoencephalopathy

-Multiple peri ventricular areas of

demyelination post MTX/RT

(ALL)

Mineralizing microangiopathy

-Seizures, ataxia, lethargy

-Intra cerebral calcif, visible on

CT/MRI

Prevention: Chemo/RT interactions

Neuropsychologic & intellectual

disorders

-Chemo/RT modalities, age & related

-Affects:IQ, academic

performances,reading,

attention, Math, memory, motor skills

-Prevention: RT,chemo modalities;

older age,

hemisphere sparing

Somnolence syndrome

-4-8 weeks post RT

-apathy, irritability, nauseas,drowziness

-Prevention: limit RT volume
