cross members creates a versatile platform
for the fitment of numerous body options
whatever the application. These include
dropside, van/box, curtain side, aerial plat-
forms, cranes, water drill rigs, tankers and
light-duty tippers. Whenever extra capacity
is required, there is an elevated stack of leaf
springs above the standard spring pack to
provide for heavier loads without allowing
the rear end to sag.
At the recent Fuso FA9-137 launch, held in
Johannesburg, Naeem Hassim further said,
“The latest technology and uncompromised
Daimler standards ensure that the FA9-137
was produced with the highest precision and
offered superior quality. "With a Gross Vehi-
cle Mass of 9.6 tons allowing a payload of
up to 5 tons, the 4X2 freight carrier config-
uration can be used in general distribution,
courier, bakery, rental as well as tankers and
light tipping operations,” he said
The ergonomically styled cab interior is well
equipped, with all functions falling easily
to hand, making a worthwhile contribution
to reducing driver fatigue. The high head-
rests and tilting telescopic steering add to
the safety of driver and passengers. Further
adding to the safety features of the FA9-137
all-steel cab is a heavy duty frame and side
impact bars built into the doors. Designed
for easy access, the doors open to 70 de-
grees, whilst the cab tilts to a 45 degree
angle. Ample storage space is provided for
small items and for documents.
“With this truck, FUSO is showing that we
are more than capable of driving the light to
medium-duty segment using a vehicle that
has become known for its Daimler heritage,
quality, unmatched reliability and efficiency.
This is what our customers demand and we
are ready to deliver only the way a FUSO
can,” concluded Hassim.
