Vascat SA has recently supplied several
customised asynchronous servomotors
(30kW) for torsion control systems in
tubular stranders.
The motors have been integrated
inside the tubular cage, rotating at a
constant speed of 500rpm, so subjected
to significant centrifugal forces. An
important characteristic of these motors
is the reinforced frame and shock and
vibration-resistant design. As a result
of close collaboration between Vascat
and the customer, important dimension
savings have been achieved and machine
versatility has been substantially
improved.

A survey by The Plastic Pipe Institute, USA,
concluded that anti-termite requirement
was essential in polymeric applications
particularly wires, cables and plastic
pipelines.
