PREVIEWS

Codemasters are back again with another annual

instalment in the F1 game series - the official

accompaniment to the Formula 1 racing season.

This iteration will see the addition of the brand

new Championships mode, and will also feature

a host of classic F1 vehicles, including the 2002

Ferrari F2002 and the 2010 Red Bull Racing RB6.

Get ready to jump back in with more immersive

handling, beautiful graphics, new track layouts, and

a host of cool cars to take for a spin. Don’t forget you can still kick

your mates’ butts in the online mode.

F1 2017

Nestled inside Sony’s booth at E3 this year was a little

stand out title called

Matterfall

that we kept coming

back to time and time again. A side-scrolling platformer

at its heart, it’s undoubtedly on the challenging side,

but it’s been a while since we’ve been challenged to

this extent. You swap between different weapon types

and dashes to traverse the environment and destroy -

or dodge - the ‘matter’ flying around the world - trust

us when we say you’ll need a fair bit of concentration for this one; it’s

a doozy, but all the more satisfying when you conquer it. Don’t let this

one slip under the radar.

MARIO + RABBIDS: KINGDOM BATTLE

Much like chocolate and broccoli, Mario and

the Rabbids are possibly two things that you

would never imagine going together. However,

in one of the big surprises at Ubisoft’s press

conference this year, they have been brought

together in a joint development by Nintendo

and Ubisoft dubbed

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom

Battle

.

It’s a turn-based adventure and the Rabbids

have crash-landed in the Mushroom Kingdom;

some of them are helpful and have joined

Mario’s side, and the others will try to take you

out.

It’s up to you to work together with your new

Rabbid pals to terminate your foes and get to

the bottom of what caused this meeting of

worlds in the first place. Take turns shooting at

your enemies - or jumping off one another - to

complete each area’s goal, whether it’s to take

out the enemies or simply reach the other side

in one piece.

Who knows what

Mario + Rabbids

will pave

the way for. Will Sonic the Hedgehog team

up with Altair? Are we going to see Soap

hanging out with Samus Aran? Nevertheless,

this is a surprisingly fun addition to both these

characters’ universes.
