Solicitors' Claim for Petrol Allowance.
THE President reported that, with the Secretary,
he had interviewed officials of the Department of
Supplies with a view to obtaining an allowance of
petrol for solicitors for business purposes. He
pointed out particularly the difficulty experienced
by country solicitors in carrying on their practice-

transport to attend the various courts. The
officials of the Department had fully appreciated
these difficulties but had informed him that there

position and to communicate with the Society
on the subject.
