This means very high wear constraints

on straightening rollers. At the maximum

30,000 RPM, standard steel rollers would

have quickly broken.

The rollers designed by Subec are based

on a sleeve in tungsten carbide in order to

achieve a longer lifetime.

To be included in automated line control,

the straightener is equipped with

pneumatic closing and opening.

Like the opening mechanism, the number

and material of rollers is customisable and

is highly dependent on the straightness

tolerances required.

Subec proposes a whole range of

straighteners covering various types of

product and needs.

This implies regular new constructions and

adaptations which is why there is a high

degree of modularity in the designs.

For cases where the operator has

to handle a diverse range of cable

diameters, other types of straighteners are

recommended where both rows of rollers

open symmetrically from the centre line of

the product.

In that way, the product will always be

in a centred position, no matter what

diameter is running. There is no need

to readjust the straightener on the new

centreline for each product.

The goal is to provide the best-suited

solution for a given product and

application at a competitive pricing.

Important aspects during conception

are, for instance: ease of use, achieving

the required function in an e cient and

controlled manner, and minimising the

setup times.
