Cables and rods
: LPS, 20-40 kHz, large diameter measurement
(0.3 to 20mm), one or three axes, fast or ultra fast diameter and
shape measurements. Application to lump and neck detection,
stranded or taped wires in line checks.
Surface Quality Measurement
: (advance) SQM- ne, for ne wire,
optical bre and cables. The rst series of tests is completed
and led to modifying the design to better suit the demands of
industrial applications and to improve the resolution at 256 dots
per circumference while keeping the line frequency at 300kHz.
All technical issues were solved two years ago, and nal
adjustments will be made this year.
CIM (CERSA Instrument Manager)
: PC environment software to
manage all Cersa-MCI instruments. It provides a complete set of
comprehensive tools for production application to fully bene t
the instrument performances. It uses an open database to access
the records. In production it helps to improve and master the
production process as well as to certify the whole production
speci cations. The laboratory version allows the traceability of
samples.
For the last 25 years, 40 per cent of Cersa’s labour cost has been
spent on advanced R&D programmes for wire, optical bre and
cables, resulting in several international patents. Its products for
wires and optical bres are today widely used worldwide.
All these products are the result of customer demands and close
cooperation between industry experts and Cersa engineers, to
improve in-line continuous production checks for material saving
and quality certi cation, and to reduce o -line checks and cost.
The company has an o ce in Wuhan, China, covering the whole
of Asia for both technical assistance and maintenance.

Chemours, a global chemical company will be exhibiting its
wide range of uoroplastics, and additions to the ECCtreme™
ECA family, a class of melt-processable per uoroplastics which
combines the advantageous mechanical, electrical and chemical
properties of PTFE with high thermal stability. For instance,
at a thickness of 0.75mm, the material has an RTI (relative
thermal index) listing of 300°C according to UL 746B. Thanks
to its continuous service temperature of 300°C, ECCtreme™
ECA exceeds the previous upper limit of 260°C for conventional
per uoroplastic insulating materials.
ECCtreme™ ECA grades can be processed on conventional
extrusion equipment for high temperature uoroplastics using
standard processing conditions. Downstream heat treatment
(epitaxial co-crystallisation) improves the material’s thermal
resistance and o ers bene cial mechanical properties, such
as long-term tensile modulus and improved stress cracking
resistance.
The material is suitable for wire and cable insulations which
are exposed to extreme service conditions such as very high
temperatures, elevated pressures and corrosive surroundings.
Typical elds of application are the oil and gas industry,
aerospace, energy generation, semiconductor fabrication and the
automotive industry.
“This development is our response to industry’s challenge to
o er a high-temperature, melt-processable per uoroplastic,” said
Frenk Hulsebosch, global product manager melts uoroplastics at
Chemours Fluoropolymer Solutions.
