of the franchise after playing
Titanfall
2
at EA Play. The introduction of the
grappling hook to the rifleman class is
a masterstroke, adding a new element
to this fast-moving title with frenetic
gunplay. What will the single-player
campaign entail? Who knows, but this
one certainly has our interest.
FIFA 17
, driven by the might
of the Frostbite engine, looked,
as you would expect, first-class.
Scoring a goal was dastardly
difficult, but all the focus at
this stage is centred on the new
feature, The Journey – a single-player
mode that charts the career of a hopeful
young player. Producer Matt Prior told
STACK
that this would never have been possible
without the implementation of Frostbite.

GAMES
In June,
STACK headed to Los Angeles once again to
cover the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3.
Day One.
We’re back. The chaos that is E3 has
once again descended upon L.A. to thrill
and entertain an audience hungry for a
look (and for the patient, a play) at the
extensive range of games on offer this
year. All the talk surrounding the future
of E3 was momentarily forgotten as huge
swathes of excited gamers forced their
way through the doors of the Los Angeles
Convention Center (LACC).
For us, the morning began with EA, who
shunned the industry-focused E3 this year
and opted to hold its own show designed
for the community, at the Nokia Theater
not a stone’s throw from the LACC. The
event was well organised, offering ample
opportunity to jump in for hands-on with their
upcoming slate.
Battlefield 1
exceeded
expectations with an expansive
64-player battle that included infantry,
planes, tanks, and even airships. Although
we were never big proponents for
Titanfall
,
we could be convinced to revise our opinion
