Expanded software capability

TEZET Technik AG has extended

its TeZetCAD software to include

laser scanning for geometric parts on

tubes and in relation to tubes. The

new ‘geometric parts’ module runs on

Windows XP and Windows 7.

If users have measured geometric

parts with other software in the past,

they can now import the files and

drawings into TeZetCAD via the TeZet

interfaces IGES, STL or STEP, and

manipulate them according to the tube

specification, for instance meshes or

point clouds.

These TeZetCAD interfaces are

programmed specifically for tubes and

cannot be used for ‘only geometric

parts’ software. Instead of selecting

points, using the lasso or smoothing

the measured parts, TeZetCAD

measures virtually with the mouse with

the TeZetCAD function ‘check points on

object against Master-IGES’.

Another practical new function that

could help other departments that do not

have access to the measuring device,

but nevertheless are dependent on the

data, is the ‘measure virtual’ function:

the mouse can rollover the drawing on

the screen to each xyz point, and it is

possible to turn and rotate the part that

should be measured.

TeZetCAD now has a status of

‘all-in-one’ with its specialised tube

software, due to the integration of the

measurement and manipulation of

geometric parts that are in relation to

tubes. This new function was created for

the TeZetCAD software and corresponds

with relevant tube data.
