Warrior attacks the market

ESAB’s new Warrior multi-process

welding power source and wire feeder

is designed for applications within the

shipbuilding, railway, mobile machinery,

power generation, construction, pipe

welding, general fabrication, repair and

maintenance sectors.

Warrior has been developed using

feedback from expert welders with a

concern for reliable operation, minimal

downtime and maximum welding

productivity.

It has been designed as a rugged

welding power source suitable for use

within tough welding environments

encountered

in

many

different

industries. It can perform MIG/MAG,

flux-cored wire, manual metal arc

(MMA) and TIG welding tasks, as well

as arc gouging.

Featuring highly reliable inverter

technology for energy savings and

greater functionality, Warrior delivers

up to 500 amps @ 60 per cent duty

cycle. It welds 0.8 to 2mm flux-cored

and solid wires, and carbon arc gouges

with electrodes up to 10mm diameter,

and has a full range of MMA capabilities

with 7018 and 6010 performance.

Features include an air tunnel design

to keep critical electronics free from

dirt, oil and foreign objects. The durable

external body and its IP23 rating will

endure harsh outdoor environments,

including up to 60° driving rain.

Ergonomically designed handles are

built to withstand mechanical hoisting,

and double bend 2mm steel side panels

protect against collisions, drops and

unexpected impact.

The new wire feeder features a high-

torque 4-roll drive, offering superior

feed even with long MIG/MAG welding

guns. This feeder’s comprehensive

controls include remote voltage, gas

purge, inch wire, wire feed speed,

trigger lock and slow run-in. Designed

for ease of use, Warrior’s power

source controls are all conveniently

located on its front panel. Knobs are

protected, and are designed for use

when wearing welding gloves.

A simple and clear user interface

makes it easy for anyone to start

welding within a few seconds. The

connection cable set has power, gas

and control in an all-in-one bundle,

helping to reduce set-up times.

The sun-friendly display makes

it easy to see the settings when

welding outside. For remote welding

and gouging applications, Warrior is

generator-compatible. It can work with

both 300 and 200mm welding wire

spools for lighter weight and better

portability, and an easy-to-open side

panel provides quick access for service

and maintenance.

Heavy-duty pipe bevelling

FOR more than 20 years PIPE Ltd has

been manufacturing and supplying

a range of portable pipe bevelling

machines to industries across the world,

including chemical, oil, gas and power

generation.

The company is constantly evaluating

its products, modifying and improving

based on customer feedback and

requirements.

The latest incarnations of PIPE’s

heavy duty pipe bevelling range, the

Supermaxi series, will be unveiled at

this year’s Schweissen & Schneiden

fair, 16 to 21 September.

Covering a range of 4" to 24" pipe in

just two machines, the new Supermaxi

series has been designed to suit the

arduous conditions and materials faced

by pipe fabricators. Designed with a

removable centre shaft for rapid and

simple set up in the pipe, the revised six-

point locking system, together with the

new motor and gearing system, enables

the Supermaxi machines to bevel pipe

of almost any wall thickness, and any

material.

For high volume repetitive work where

consistent, high quality machine finish

bevels are required, the Supermaxi

series of bevelling machines are suitable

for any job site or workshop application.

The machines are available with electric,

pneumatic or hydraulic power options

and a range of tooling to suit all styles of

weld preparation and materials.

Visitors to the company’s Schweissen

& Schneiden stand – A244 in Hall 4 –

will be able to see the Supermaxi series,

together with PIPE Ltd’s full range of

pipe and plate working equipment,

including portable pipe bevelling

machines, portable pipe cutting and

bevelling machines, pipe alignment

clamps, pipe stands and pipe handling

equipment, pipe purging equipment,

plate bevelling machines, tube pulling

and expanding equipment, and tube to

tubesheet welding machines.

Among the other new equipment on

show will be the E-Z Fit Red range of

pipe clamps.
