RAINBOW COLOR CODING SYSTEM
The Rainbow color coding system works well for all pull tag numbers. First introduced in 1982, the Rainbow
System is still very popular, inexpensive and an easy way to determine age group award winners.
Using the specially designed Rainbow color coding stickers, each runners pull tag is marked with a colored
sticker that represents his age group (15 colors available). In addition, the shape of the sticker (square or oval)
represents the gender of the participant.
Using the pull tag system, as participants cross the nish line and enter the chute system, their pull tags are
collected and spindled in order of nish. Race o cials, searching for the top three in each age group, are then
able to go through the tags looking for the rst three of each color instead of having to read each tag.
Awards ceremonies are typically ready before the last runner crosses the nish line.
Using the tag posting strips, tags can be removed from the stringers, stapled on the strips and posted
for all nishers to see and compare time and place in their age groups.
Tough enough™ biodegradable are tear and water resistant race
bibs printed on a biodegradable paper laminate. Rainbow Racing System’s
Tough enough™ race bibs are made of paper with an inner layer of plastic
providing the needed durability of synthetic papers such as Tyvek. The
durable layer of plastic in the paper laminate is biodegradable.
