they gain considerable bulk, often diagnosed at late stages (75%)

Pathways of spreading
Retropharyngeal and prevertebral spaces
Lateral extension is uncommon
Bilateral N involvement
(lymphatic spread is found in
about 25% of T1 and in 75% or more of T4)
