Radiological Protection Bill, 1990

This Bill provides for the

establishment of the Radiological

Protection Institute of Ireland,

the dissolution of the Nuclear

Energy Board; enables a range

of radiation protection measures to

be taken by various Ministers in the

event of a radiological emergency,

gives effect to provisions of the

Convention on Assistance in the

case of a Nuclear Accident or

Radiological Emergency (the

Assistance Convention), the

Convention on Early Notification of

a

Nuclear

Accident

(the

Notification Convéntion), and the

Convention on the Physical

Protection of Nuclear Material (the

Protection Convention).
