keep regular hours, not abuse his health, and should

keep his body clean, his face properly shaved.and his

hair evenly trimmed. That is the kind of material for

a bar clerk who will hold the interests of his employer

in his hands, who will gain and hold trade, and it is the

kind every proprietor wants.

Dress While on Duty.

Some bar clerks wear linen or duck coats, and they

look very neat, but they are stiff, uncomfortable and

hinder the free movement of the body and arms. A

more convenient and appropriate dress is the white

shirt, white vest, white neck tie and white apron—

everything white above the belt even to the white ker

chief for nasal and labial comfort.

Should he pure and spotless as this beautiful and imma
