RosendahlNextrom

Booth 951

The RosendahlNextrom team from the

Hickory, North Carolina, USA, o ce will

be on site to show visitors solutions

in ribbon and loose tube production

for bre optic cables. In particular,

the high-performance loose tube line

has been equipped with a special

RX5 crosshead, which makes for low

maintenance and easy operation. Its

accuracy and high centricity help to

achieve utmost reproducibility.

The HV power cable line RH-W is a

tandem metal sheathing and jacketing

line that covers product diameters from

40 to 200mm. Over the past year the

company has also placed particular

focus on the manufacturing of silicone

insulation and the processing of

high-temperature materials as well as

uoropolymers. Their material properties

have inspired the development teams to

reach even more ambitious goals.

In North America, Rosendahl and

Nextrom work closely with their

representatives F Camarena Inc and

J J Lowe Associates Inc. For bre optic

cable solutions, partner Finoptics Inc has

End use applications include: super ne

wire, automotive wires, contact wire

and trolley wires for high speed trains,

data communication cables, CTC and

transformer strips as well as enamelled

wires.

Rautomead managing director Brian

Frame will also be presenting a paper

at the technical symposium which runs

alongside the Interwire exhibition.

This paper will highlight Rautomead’s

recent R&D activities with respect to

developing a casting capability for new

high performance alloys, particularly

focused on automotive signal cabling,

lightweighting and improved alloy

performance bre solutions for optical

bre cables (OFC) and a manufacturer

of cable machinery for OFC. O ering a

wide range of E-glass, exible strength

members, binder yarn, ripcords and

water-swellable yarns, Roblon can

supply most of the products used in

OFC designs. However, by using its

special technologies and know-how, it

is also able to supply materials for many

di erent custom-made cable designs.

Recently, Roblon introduced a new

family

of

water-swellable

yarns,

including very ne yarns for fully dry

cable designs by using new innovative

chemistries. Roblon Binder Yarn ULS

is made of high grade polyester and

is used for high-speed binding of

SZ-stranded optical bres and tapes.

With a shrinkage level less than 0.6 per

cent, Roblon Binder Yarn ULS is suitable

for micro- and mini cables with weight

optimised wall thickness of tubes.
