Process upgrade
for Thyssen
Thyssen Krupp Acciai Speciali
Terni SpA, has asked Tenova Strip
Processing to transfer its stainless
steel annealing and pickling line no.
4 from Turin to Terni. In addition to
the revamping of the plant as a whole
and the process section in particular,
the project involves a full furnace
upgrade to be handled by Tenova
LOI Italimpianti.
A third line will provide a top hourly
capacity of 50 tons and process
coils weighing up to 27 tons, with
thicknesses from 2–7mm for hot strip
and 2–5mm for cold strip. Work on the
project is scheduled for completion in
the summer of 2009.
This project is the third order that
Thyssen Krupp has awarded to Tenova
Strip Processing over the last two
years.
