more frequent in the
upper mediastinum
than the mid-
mediastinum or lower
mediastinum.
Tumours in the mid-
oesophagus, node
metastases are often
more frequent in the
supraclavicular area
than the mid or lower
mediastinum.
Tumours in the distal
oesophagus are more
likely to metastasize to
the abdomen,
lymphatic spread of
cancer in the upper or
mid oesophagus can
also spread to celiac
nodes
