jth February, 1948. A certificate stamped
after 5th February must be produced to the Society
within one month after date of stamping.
If not
so produced within the said period such certificate
will take effect as a qualification to practise only
from the date when it is produced. The sum
payable to the Society on the issue of a practising
certificate is £2.

Housing (Amendment) Bill, 1947
THE Secretary reported that following the intro
duction of the Bill in Dail Eireann, Mr. John S.
O'Connor had agreed to put down an amendment
to Section 28, the effect of which will be to authorise
the payment of costs 'on the scale prescribed by the
Solicitors' Remuneration General Orders, 1884 to
1947 and the Land Registration Rules, 1937, as
amended by subsequent rules on the acquisition of
lands and houses by housing authorities.
New Member of the Council
THE President welcomed Mr. Francis J. Gearty,
the newly elected ordinary member of the Council
and Mr. Gearty suitably replied.
DECEMBER 4TH : Mr. Henry St. J. Blake and subse
quently Mr. Scan 0 hUadhaigh in the Chair. Also
