It’s a deal!

Pourtier and Setic, France, both part

of the Gauder Group, research and

develop machines and complete lines for

copper data cables. The companies have

developed the ‘Triple Twist’ Process, for

which patenting rights have been applied

for and granted in important markets.

In

2002,

Maschinenfabrik

Niehoff,

Germany, modified its double twist

bunchers for bare wire to make them

suitable for the manufacturing of

copper data cables, and applied for an

international patent for the Back Twist

Payoffs with improved Triple Twist Process.

The Gauder Group and Niehoff have

agreed to a license agreement, in which

both parties grant themselves the right

for utilising the existing patent rights for

machines and equipment as well as for

the Triple Twist Process.

Nabertherm, Germany, is a furnace

manufacturer

with

an

annual

production of over 7,000 furnaces.

The company has reported that

its booth at the GIFA in Düsseldorf

attracted a great deal of interest, with

the majority of visitors seeking furnace

solutions for their specific needs.

The company’s 130m

2

booth featured

several different chamber furnaces, and

various melting and holding furnaces

for the modern foundry.

Of special interest to foundry experts

was the presentation of a new series

of PLC-controlled crucible furnaces for

the melting and holding of non-ferrous

metals.

The advantage of these furnaces is the

flexible operation mode, which can be

defined as required. The user-friendly

automatic mode can be programmed to

cover requirements, from quick-melting

in chamber control to precise melt bath

control using a cascade, allowing for

constant quality of the molten metal

while holding.

The operation and administration of

groups of furnaces (and even whole

plants) can be centrally controlled from

a single point, using the Nabertherm

Control Center.
