dies & die shops
The introduction of the polycrystalline diamond, which revolutionised the die
making industry, has seen Nuova T’s success go from strength-to-strength.
The company, based in Italy, also introduced the use of laser technology, adapted
to specific production procedures, as well as ultrasonic drill applications developed
in-house.
After almost 100 years in the die industry, Nuova T continues optimising its
products, ranging from the tiny 50 microns natural diamond die used in multi-wire
drawing machines, to the larger polycrystalline dies also used in a wider range
of applications.

Paramount Die, USA, first introduced the
carbide wire drawing insert to the wire
industry in 1988, and later introduced the
ParaLoc pressure system, which used both
exchangeable drawing die and pressure
die inserts.
With access to low cost, accurately
finished drawing inserts often available
within 24 hours, wire drawers are able to
downsize or even eliminate their internal
die recutting operations. Through the
use of pressure die systems, wire drawers
have been able to improve die lubrication,
resulting in higher machine use and
higher productivity.
Paramount plans to improve its production
lines, and more than 90% of the
company’s production is manufactured
on equipment with technology developed
within the last five years.
