Fattoria Le Pupille
Fattoria Le Pupille, located in the Tuscany region of Italy, is a small estate owned by Elisabetta Geppetti. In
the 1990s, Fattoria Le Pupille established a presence in the international wine market. Critics have rewarded
its quality and consistency throughout its range of wines. Of particular note has been its Saffredi, which is
found on the wine lists of the world’s best restaurants.
Morellino di Scansano DOCG
The local name for the Sangiovese grape, the word Morellino is believed to take its name from the color
of the Maremma horse known as “morello,” (brown) that were once used to pull carriages in the Scansano
area. Blended from 90% Sangiovese, 5% Malvasia Nera and 5% Alicante, the wine is the perfect expression
of the Scansano terroir.
Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG
The Riserva is the wine that started Fattoria Le Pupille’s business, being the first wine that was made by
the young winery. Made even before the creation of the DOC Morellino (created in 1978), the Riserva is
the full territorial expression of Sangiovese and of the wild strength of Maremma.
Poggio Argentato Maremma IGT
This wine takes its name from the exposure of the vineyards, which face the Argentario promontory.
Once an island in the past, it is now connected to the Tuscan coast and forms a rocky, but scenic
peninsula that serves as a symbol of the Maremma. Made from a blend of Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon
Blanc, and Petit Manseng, this mineral driven white is a perfect expression of the sea and the sandstone
that makes up the terroir there.
Poggio Valente Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG
The Poggio Valente vineyard, planted with four different clones of Sangiovese, represents Elisabetta
Geppetti’s commitment to the Sangiovese grape. A small amount of Merlot is blended to add body and
a lush character to this cru wine.
