THE Emmedi brand has recently signed
a deal to work with the Ajax Tocco
Magnethermic Corporation companies,
confirming the group’s continued
commitment to the pipe and tube
industry.
Significant investment will now be
made in the near future to ensure a solid
structure and to foster long-term growth
by emphasising the role of EMMEDI
as a provider of induction solutions,
worldwide after sales services and
technical support.
With more than five decades of
presence in the market, Emmedi is an
established player in the design and
manufacture of induction machines for
the tube industry: more than 1,000 of its
high frequency welders, seam annealing
units, in-line and off-line tube annealing
equipment (bright and black) and
customised processes and solutions are
up and running worldwide.
Thanks to strong backing from
the corporate Park Ohio Holdings,
and in an effort to become more of a
universal resource to customers, the
group gathers companies and products
that span far beyond just induction
equipment: Ajax Tocco Magnethermic
and Pillar, manufacturers of world-
class machines for heat treatment
applications; PMC-Colinet, focused on
end-finishing equipment for pipe and
coupling threading applications; and
Pines, which specialises in custom
tube and pipe bending and processing
machinery and has become a global
leader in pipe bending solutions.
The combination of these tech-
nological experts will help to provide
great opportunities to the tube and
pipe industry and aims to bring value
to customers’ organisations and
businesses.

Major pipe maker orders
Weldac induction welder
from EFD Induction
ONE of the largest tube and pipe
manufacturers in Europe has selected
EFD Induction to design, build and install
a single-cabinet 750 kW/200 kHzWeldac
welder. The welder will weld profiles in
various dimensions, as well as tube of
160mm diameter, and will be
supplied with a customised
three-axis positioning table,
several part-specific coils, and
a specially designed cooling
water system, all of which are
being built by EFD Induction.
The welder features additional
chillers and heat exchangers
in order to deal with an on-site
water supply that reaches close
to 40°C in high summer.
The project represents the
largest single-cabinet welder
ever produced by EFD Induction. It
is also distinguished by the degree of
collaboration shown by EFD Induction
companies worldwide. Impeder clusters
and coils, for instance, have been
designed and made by Electronic
Heating Equipment, an EFD Induction-
owned company located in the state of
Washington, USA.
Common for all EFD InductionWeldacs
is a five-year warranty on all inverter
modules. The Weldac also boasts a
leading energy efficient operation for its
power/output class.
