Nagform determines the forming
sequence for cold, warm or hot forged
parts. It utilizes forming rules and design
logic to create alternative ways of forming
a part. Reusable sequence design templates
can be created for part families such
as hex bolts, rivets and spark plugs. The
program also provides an efficient method
of creating tool drawings. All the forging
progression designs and tool drawings can
be exported into any 2D drawing package.
The software also automatically generates
3D SolidWorks drawings and STEP files of all
Nagform part models, forging sequence
designs and default tooling.
Nagform is now available in four versions:
Starter, Lie, Complete and Nagforge for
the hot forging industry.
All-optical matrix switch
Polatis Inc
has launched its new Series
6000 Optical Matrix Switch - a fully non-
blocking, all-optical singlemode fiber
cross-connect for up to 192x192 fiber ports
with less than 1dB typical optical loss.
The Series 6000 doubles the maximum
matrix size previously available from Polatis
and is based on Polatis’ patented Direct-
Light
®
optical switch technology.
Series 6000 is designed for high density
routing of signals for intelligence and
secure communications systems. To satisfy
these demanding applications, the Series
6000 extends the proven performance of
Polatis’ DirectLight
®
technology, including
very low insertion loss, compact size, low
power draw and fast switching speeds, to
a larger matrix size at competitive pricing.
The modular design of the Series 6000
allows both symmetric (NxN) and
asymmetric (MxN) matrix configurations
as well as a customer-configurable option
allowing any-to-any fiber connections.
Production shipments will begin in the
second quarter of 2012.
