Die Glyptothek am Königsplatz eröffnete
1830 und gilt als erstes öffentliches Museum
Münchens. Das Museum beheimatet eine
beeindruckende Sammlung an griechischen
und römischen Skulpturen, die vom antiken-
begeisterten König Ludwig I. stammt.
Ein besonderes Highlight erwartet den Besu-
cher im Innenhof der Glyptothek. Zwischen
alten Akazien genießt man besten italieni-
schen Kaffee in mediterraner Atmosphäre
und fühlt sich für einen Moment wie im Urlaub.
Außerdem finden im Innenhof regelmäßig
Theateraufführungen statt, die man im kleine-
ren Kreis, unter Bäumen an weißen Garten-
tischen sitzend, an Münchens wohl schönstem
Sommerspielort genießen kann.

1830 as the first public museum in Munich, the
Glyptothek at Königsplatz houses the impressive
collection of Greek and Roman sculptures of
Ludwig I., who was an avid antique collector.
However, a special treat also awaits you in the
inner courtyard of the Glyptothek. Between old
acacias you can enjoy the best Italian coffee in
a cosy Mediterranean atmosphere, and feel as
though you're on holiday for a few precious mo-
ments. The inner courtyard also hosts regular
theatre performances, where one sits in small
groups at white garden tables in the most beauti-
ful summer theatre stage in all of Munich.
