Fighting games come and go, but the Street Fighter

series will always be the star. The familiar one-on-one

biffo is back, as brawlers step up with their vast arrays

of special combo moves – and a few good old basic

ones - to be the fighter to kick the most snot out of all

comers. A new iteration implies new things, and SFV

doesn’t disappoint, boasting a whole bunch of ‘V’ stuff

– ‘V-Triggers’, ‘V-Reversals’ and ‘V-Skills’. From unique

special attacks to handy counters, these add even more

skills to master. Naturally familiar faces return, from Ryu

and Ken to Cammy and she of the infamous pins, Chun

Li. Yep, the thighs have it, SF is still the king of fighters!

Since first hitting the PS2 back in 2005, the Ultimate

Ninja arena fighting games based on Masashi

Kishimoto’s Naruto manga have assaulted our senses –

while we assaulted anybody dumb enough to challenge

us! This release is the final in the Ultimate Ninja Storm

series, and it certainly goes out with a bang (as well as

numerous other incredible noises). It's also the most

visually amazing entry in the series – in action it looks

just like the anime. Moves both basic and advanced

have been tweaked, and you can even fight on walls

and switch your player mid-battle. Best of all though, it’s

all wrapped up in a shiny new Naruto tale.

From Africa to the Himalayas and beyond, the Far Cry

series has always been a great way to see the world

without bothering to leave your lounge. Now it’s getting

seriously historical on our couch-bound arses as we

dive back to the Stone Age. As such, one of the staples

of the series – guns – aren’t here. Yes, you’re going to

have to use your wits and an array of crafted melee

weapons to survive attacks from rival tribes and wildlife,

the latter of which you can often tame. Obviously cars

aren’t here either (not even Fred Flintstone’s funky

jalopy), but the great news is that there are also no

bloody radio towers!
