Boru 2008 – Turkey’s international tube,
pipe and fittings exhibition – will be held
for the fourth time from 28 February to the
2 March 2008. Established as the largest
tube and pipe event in Turkey, Boru will
again be held at the Istanbul Expo Centre
(IDTM) in Istanbul, Turkey.
Ihlas Fuar, organiser of the show, has
announced it has already received
increased inquiries and space bookings
for the event. In recognition of the event’s
growing popularity, the International Tube
Association (ITA) has also declared its
official support for Boru 2008 – the first
time it has done so. Other media sponsors
include Tubenet and tubelinks.
The exhibition is aimed at a broad market
including Turkey, the Balkans, eastern
Europe, North Africa, Middle East,
southwest Asia, Russia, Ukraine, and the
Turkic Republics.
Turkey has a huge domestic market of 71
million consumers and a growing spending
power. It holds a unique strategic position
between Asia and Europe.
The last event in 2007 welcomed 151
exhibitors in 11,369m
2
net exhibition space,
and attracted 18,396 visitors. International
exhibitors came from locations including
Germany, Austria, Italy, Russia, Ukraine,
Canada, Greece, UAE, Poland, Saudi
Arabia, Taiwan, Korea, and China.
Dedicated to showcasing a full spectrum
of technology, Boru will feature the latest
in ferrous, non-ferrous and plastic tube
and pipe products and suppliers, and
manufacturing and processing machinery.

The former chairman of Can-Eng Furnaces, Mr Wally Bamford, has announced the
sale of the business to current president, Mr G John Krediet. Mr Alan Van Geyn and Mr
Bamford will remain with the company by serving on its advisory board.
The management team of the company will remain unchanged. Mr Van Geyn has
been with the company since 1994, and has served as its president since 2005.
Under Mr Van Geyn’s leadership, Can-Eng Furnaces will continue to focus on long-
term growth and profitability in the international thermal processing equipment
marketplace.
Moving forward, Can-Eng Furnaces will operate under the new name, Can-Eng Furnaces
International Ltd.
Established in 1964, Can-Eng Furnaces has grown to become a leading designer and
manufacturer of industrial thermal processing equipment for ferrous and non-ferrous
metals. Can-Eng product lines include continuous mesh belt furnace systems, batch
integral quench furnace systems, continuous steel bar heat treatment systems, and
basketless heat treatment systems.
Other products include nonferrous T4, T5, T6, T7 heat treatment systems, a Scada
