CONGRATULATIONS

The ‘Seasiders’ added the AIL Round Robin title

to their list of achievements this season following

a 29-12 bonus point win at Munster champions

Clonmel last Saturday.

Bangor opened their season with a 40-17 win

over Dungannon at Stevenson Park back in

August and now, 36 matches later, the squad

completed their journey on April 23rd having

picked up the Millar McCall Wylie Junior Cup,

Powerade Towns Cup, Kukri Qualifying League

One Title, Conference League One Title and

narrowly missed out on the All Ireland Junior

Cup Final, after losing their semi final to eventual

winners, Enniscorthy. They gained revenge on

their Leinster rivals by winning the automatic

promotion place to the AIL, with Enniscorthy now

having to play Sligo for a place in next season’s

AIL.

What a remarkable achievement by Head

Coach Jason Morgan and his Assistant Coach

Michael Ferguson. They must be commended

for guiding their players through a marathon

season. The talented and skilful Bangor playing

squad had learned lessons from their AIL Junior

Cup Final defeat against Dundalk the previous

season, where they were outmuscled by their

opponents. This led to them working extremely

hard during preseason to ensure they had an

edge over all their opponents this season. They

are the standard bearers and no doubt with the

competitive nature of qualifying rugby in Ulster,

many clubs and their coaching staff will be

analysing their blue (and yellow) print.

Congratulations to Bangor RFC on their

outstanding season!

Congratulations must go to the Bangor RFC 1st XV team who have

returned to the All Ireland League after a 14-year absence.
