KNOW YOUR COUNCIL 1984/85
Patrick J. Daly
Patrick J. Daly is a Partner in the firm of Messrs. Claffey & Daly,
Solicitors, Galway. He was educated at Clongowes Wood College and
University College, Dublin and qualified as a Solicitor in 1973. He has
been involved for several years in the County Galway Solicitors Bar
Association. This is his first year on the Council and he presently serves
on the Compensation, Parliamentary and Younger Members'
Committees of the Society.
Grattan d'Esterre Roberts
Grattan d'Esterre Roberts was educated at Christian Brothers College,
Cork and at University College, Cork where he obtained a B.C.L.
Degree. He was admitted as Solicitor in the Michaelmas Term 1972. He
is the Senior Partner in the firm of Ahern Roberts O'Driscoll, Solicitors,
Cork, having commenced practice with the late Jeremiah J. Ahern. He is
grandson of the late Grattan Donnelly, Solicitor, of Athy, Co. Kildare.
He was President of the Southern Law Association in 1983/1984 and
served as Treasurer of that Association for a number of years. He has
been a nominated member from the Southern Law Association to the
Council since 1977 and has served on various Committees of the Law
Society including Registrar's, Professional Purposes, Parliamentary and
Litigation. He has also served on Sub-Committees preparing a guide to
the Professional Conduct of Solicitors and drafting proposals or
advertising by Solicitors.
Moya Quinlan
Mrs. Moya Quinlan was educated at the Dominican College, Sion Hill,
Blackrock and University College Dublin. She was admitted in Easter
Term, 1946, and has been a member of the Council since 1969. She is the
Principal of Joseph H. Dixon & Co., 8 Parnell Square, Dublin 1. Mrs.
Quinlan was President of Dublin Solicitors Bar Association for the year
1979/80 and President of the Law Society 1980/81.
