David R. Pigot - Senior Vice-President, 1985/86

David R. Pigot was educated at Blackrock College and

Trinity College, Dublin from where he graduated with

Degrees of B . A . (Mo d .) iii Legal Science, and LL.B.

(First class hons.) in 1950. he was admitted as a Solicitor

in 1951. He was a Dublin Solicitors Bar Association

nominee to the Council in 1969 and 1970 and was

elected to the Council in 1971. He was President of the

DS BA in 1975/6. He was Chairman of the Registrar's

and Compen s a t i on Fund Committees in 1976 and 1977

and first Chairman of the Society's Litigation Sub-

Committee in 1980, a position he held for three years.

He is currently a member of the Public Relations,

Finance and Litigation Committees and one of the

Society's nominees on the Superior Court Rules Com-

mittee. He has delivered lectures to the Society of

Young Solicitors and Dublin Solicitors Bar Association

and contributes articles to the Law Society's

Gazette.

He is a partner in Arthur Cox & Co ., Solicitors, Dublin.

He is married to Bernadetta (Detta) and they have three

children, David, Janet and Vicki.

Carmel

S.

Killeen - Junior Vice-President 1985/86

Carmel Killeen was educated at Loreto College, St.

Stephen's Green, Dublin. She obtained degrees of B . A.

(Legal and Political Science) and LL.B. (Honours) from

University College Dublin. She qualified as a Solicitor

in 1948 and was awarded a Special Certificate of Merit

by the Society on the results of her final Law Examin-

ation. She holds a Silver Medal from the Solicitors

Apprentices Debating Society. She was President of the

Medico-Legal Society of Ireland for the years 1982/84.

She has been a member of the Council since 1975 and

has served on the Registrar's, Professional Purposes

and Parliamentary Committees. She was formerly

Deputy Law Agent with Dublin County Council.
