Golfing Society

The Solicitors' Golfing Society travelled north on the

27th September, 1985, to Warrenpoint Golf Club, and

there defended successfully the Enterprise Trophy

against the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

A most enjoyable day was had by all and the weather

did not spoil things for the participants. The result of

the Match was 3 to 2 with two matches halved and the

individual match results were as follows (Solicitors'

Golfing Society names first):

Donal Brannigan (6) and Cyril Coyle (10) beat John

Boston (4) and Vincent Fitzpatrick (9) 3 and 2.

Andy Smyth (10) and John Bourke (12) lost to Sean

O'Neill (9) and Peter Gilmore (13) 3 and 1.

Paddy O'Doherty (14) and Frank Johnston (12) halved

with Gerry McClure (12) and Eugene Daly (15).

John Feran (18) and Richard Bennett (19) halved with

Lenox Cotton (19) and Sean McGrath (18).

Padraic Gearty (12) and Brian Rigney (13) beat Michael

Gilfeather (13) and Rory McShane (16) one up.

Gerry Walsh (10) and Joe McGowan (12) lost to Paul

O'Kane (7) and Seamus Connolly (15)6 and 4.

Pat McGonagle (18) and Brian O'Brien (12) beat Nor-

ville Connolly (17) and Kieran Connolly (18) 5 and 4.

The following also travelled and would surely have been

successful had opposition been provided: Daire Walsh
