temple that makes the gold sacred? You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the
altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by
his oath.’ You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes
the gift sacred?
“Therefore, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.
And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in
it. And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one
who sits on it.”
(Matthew 23: 20-22)
God’s words are perfectly true, and are
revealed many times in many ways. However, none are more important
than what Jesus said as a prophetic witness of what was to follow.
Therefore, in essence, two witnesses in two different times should now be
evident.
We are called to be a sacred place, perhaps, like the Ark of the Covenant
that contained the Ten Commandments. The human body is meant to be a
temple for the Holy Spirit, and therefore sacred because of the spirit
dwelling within. As temples of the Holy Spirit, we are sacred because the
Spirit dwelling within is holy and true.
Love of Jesus is a perfect reality, not just a word misused to gain favor from
the world, nor to be used in vain! “This is to my Father’s glory, that you
bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has
loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my
commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s
commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may
be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love
each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he
lay down his life for his friends.”
(John 15: 8-13)
Humanity seldom accepts the
witness preferring darkness.
Jesus’ body is on earth, a spiritual mystical body; and the temple most
honored is the heart of man. God’s temple is not a building, cathedral or a
shining crystal palace, it is a physical body [one or more persons] within
which His Holy Spirit dwells! There will be a time when the sheep are
separated from the goats, a time of judgment: “But they deliberately forget
that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed
out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was
deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are
reserved for fire, being kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of
ungodly men. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord
