At

tacking us in church? That’s a splatterin’! Attacking us

an

ywhere?! You better believe that’s a splatterin’! Faced

w

ith nests of icky ‘Swarm’ beings, we’re damned glad

w

e’ve got an arsenal that’d make Arnie beg for just a

lit

tle bit of a play – plus, added melee! Anyway, it’s 25

ye

ars after the events of GoW3, which saw the planet

Se

ra de-Locusted thanks to one gigantic mofo weapon

st

rike. It had side effects though, and this first new non-

Epic Games GoW

sees Marcus’s son JD Fenix and mates Del Walker

and Kait Diaz dealing with a new and totally gross threat to Sera. Play

solo, online or local split-screen – just destroy that Swarm!

Th

set

in 1968 New Orle... erm, Bordeaux, is the tale of one

Lin

made it his life’s mission to start his own crime syndicate to take on the

Italian mob. MMMmmm... Organised crime!

When FPS

Titanfall

originally hit, as well as the

sheer coolness of being able to jump into a

massive mech and let loose copious carnage,

it meant we could basically pretend we were

in

Pacific Rim

at home! But if you had dodgy

internet it wasn’t much fun, as there was no

single player campaign. Ah, but now there

is one, so even if your internet seems to be

coming at you straight from the 1800s, you

can get your mech on. You’re Frontier Militia

rifleman Jack Cooper, achieving your aim to

become a pilot in an unfortunate way – by

hooking up with your dead squad mate’s Titan.

Not only will you need to stave off local aliens,

there are also imported human enemies. The

story has a specific path, but you’ve a whole

bunch of freedom in getting from points A to

B – both directionally and time-wise. Meanwhile,

multiplayer naturally returns. “New” seems

to be the keyword, with attention paid to fan

requests from the first release. Six all-new

Titans join the fleet, while pilots have heaps of

shiny new abilities available. There are several

ways to get your hands dirty, including Titan-

free pilot vs. pilot, bounty hunts or capturing

hardpoints – and trying to hold on to them!
