CLEPA, the European Association of Automotive
Suppliers, organised the Innovation Awards to
highlight outstanding achievements made in the
European automotive industry, celebrating automotive
excellence for green and sustainable mobility.
HIDRIA with its innovative Pressure Sensing Glow
Plug (Optymus) was named the winner of the
Green Technology category in competition with 76
applications from 45 countries (more than 50% of
applications were in the Green Technology category).
The second and third prizes in the category were
awarded to Valeo and Bosch. Hidria’s breakthrough
innovation won the CLEPA award as it best expresses
quality, ambition, market relevance and a strong impact
on the automotive industry.
The CLEPA award is an important moment for Hidria,
proving the group’s strong innovation culture. Winning
the award gives Hidria a fresh momentum to continue
their successful and carefully planned operations in the
future.
Hidria Glow Plugs are a premium quality product and
are manufactured in Slovenia. Many of the new PSG
(Pressure Sensor Glow Plugs) are manufactured by
Hidria and they own the patents, which means they
cannot be copied by anyone else.

diesel applications in the UK.
