ALSO OUT IN JULY

M

any fans will no doubt agree

that the highlight of

The

Human Centipede II (Full

Sequence)

is the silent performance

by diminutive British actor Laurence

R. Harvey as Martin, the disturbed

London car park attendant determined

to create his own 12-person human

centipede after becoming obsessed

with the original film.

“My agent thought it was a porn

film because the website said ‘Adult

Entertainment Amsterdam’, so he

turned it down,” Harvey tells

STACK

.

“But at least he rang me and told me

about it. I asked him what the title was

and he said, ‘

The Human Centipede II’

,

and I said ‘ring them back, I want to do

the audition’, because I’d heard about

the first

Human Centipede

which was

still playing on the festival circuit at

the time. Tom Six had been looking

for someone who was the physical

opposite of Dieter Laser, who is

tall and skinny, and I’m not,” he

laughs.

Now, four years and lots of

outraged reviews later, Harvey

has returned to Six’s

sick world with a

supporting role

in

The Human

Centipede III (Final Sequence)

,

appearing opposite THC star Dieter

Laser, who is fashioning a 500-person

centipede using the inmates of an

American prison.

“You know that Tom is going to do

something unexpected,” Harvey offers

when asked what we can expect from

the third film. “It’s not a horror film like

the previous two were, and to call it a

comedy would be slightly misleading

as well. I think it’s closer to a very

awkward, sitcom version of

There’s

Something About Mary

, where all

the sets are a bit wonky and the lead

character is a sadist. That’s as close

as I can get to describing it, really. It’s

Prisoner Cell Block H

with torture and

genitals.”

Given the irrepressible Laser’s

propensity for overacting, as

witnessed in

The Human Centipede

,

was Harvey concerned that the

other actors would pale into

insignificance in the wake of

his performance in THC3?

“He absolutely goes 101

per cent,” Harvey confirms.

“In many ways
