Dublin Solicitors' Bar Association

IT was decided to request the Minister for Justice

to include provision in the Solicitors' (Amendment)

Bill, 1958,

for

the amendment of the Society's

charters to enable the Dublin Solicitors' Bar Associ

ation to be represented on the Council by three

extraordinary members.

Solicitors' Accounts Regulations

NEW regulations were made amending the pro

visions of the Solicitors (Accounts) Regulations,

1955. The new Regulations are printed at page 50

in this issue.

Unqualified Persons

IT was reported that proceedings had been instituted

in the name of the Society against a civil servant

who had contravened the provisions of section

58

of the Solicitors Act, 1954,by procuring the execu

tion by an Irish citizen of a document related to

real or personal property situated in the United

States.

It was reported that the defendant had

given an undertaking not to repeat the offence, and

had indemnified the Society against costs, and that

the proceedings had been withdrawn.
