Engage!

Teaching the Trades We bring the construction site to school providing trade students at Giles Technical Center a hands on experience in construction. Students have begun their fifth Habitat home this fall.

Ways to engage through giving. You can make an annual donation, a monthly donation, or a one-time contribution. We encourage legacy giving through Donor Directed Funds or Endowments. All donations support our mission of “ Building strength , stability, and self-reliance through shelter.” Use the QR code below to make an online donation through our pledge site or visit our website at HabitatNRV.org to make a pledge, or donate in person at the ReStore.

Repair Café Twice a year we

invite the community to bring items needing repair to volunteers offering services such as; small appliance and electronics repair, IT

assistance, furniture repair, tool and knife sharpening and sewing. The Master Gardeners offer gardening tips and advice, as well. Our next Repair Café will be on Saturday, October 26.

Our first Tool Lending Library, Saturday, October 26. The tool lending library provides access to tools that might otherwise be very expensive and only used once. Some of the most popular rental requests have been ladders, extension cords and garden tillers . We will also offer classes that teach repair tricks, DIY projects, or learn a new skill, such as canning.

Who are Habitat donors? Donations fuel the services and programs we provide. Donors come in all shapes and sizes, just like their donations. We built a ramp for a homebound woman and she made a donation of $10. We appreciated it. Other donations are significantly larger and we appreciate those too. Some donations come in the form of a sofa or gently-used refrigerator or a car given to the
