USD Magazine, Summer 1999

T he men's lacrosse club team this spring captured its second con– secutive Western Collegiate Lacrosse League Division 11 champi– onship, beating Chico State 8-7 in the finals at the University of San Francis– co. Coached by Todd Smith '90, the team finished 7-2 overall and 4-0 in its division. Named as WCLL all-stars this year were defenseman Matt Thompson, goaltender Jed Stahl and midfielders Rich Symington, Mark Hoffmeister, Joe Kudla and Tom Palecek.
