… A lot of police is around today and a few of them enter to do pranam: the President is due to give a lecture in nearby Jipmer, expected to arrive shortly by helicopter… … Rs. 20/- are offered… Besides the stress on the body from intensive work in both the gardens, I am quite swamped and bewildered…: the condition I am in, the lack of progress… Also, as I am nearly done with my translation of “Savitri” (I started 42 years ago!) and the recording of it and I have no clue as to what to be doing next, I can but wonder at my isolation… What do I have worth contributing or sharing…? How I wish I could be more open to the Force, offer this substance and this aggregate to the Work…

… Rs. 20/- are offered… Yesterday was a peculiar “snake day” for me: in the morning I had found a long thin one in Riddhi room and it had taken me a while to persuade it to come out; when I went home I found that a very large and long snake was inside the room when I opened the door and it panicked and jolted many things onto the floor and went to curl up and hide behind a large rock on a shelf (a rock that bears Sri Ganesh’s image in its markings, found high up in Ladhak); I went in, sorted the mess and rearranged everything, leaving the door open for it to escape, but it refused to budge; I ignored it the rest of the day, keeping the door wide open while I went on with various tasks in and out of the house; but in the evening when I went in again I found it had now thrown down more objects and even broken the large framed mirror and this time it took me much longer to clean up. But I was not sure how to force it out of the house without causing more havoc, as the puja table is covered with delicate pieces (many small figures of Sri Ganesh and various crystals) and it might crash into it on the way out… I figured it must be a very large rat snake; how did it come in? It is a little tempting to think that someone must have “introduced” it since otherwise I never let the door open
