Tsungkow as the mailing route due to war Mailed on 15th November 1949 from Tsungkow (49.08.16) transit via Lungki (49.09.19) on 23rd November, Chaoan (49.12. 02) on 26th November, Swatow (49.10.24) on 28th November to Hong Kong; affixed with one Domestic Unit stamp consistent with the Hong Kong postage rate. Owing to military disruption along the Han River, this letter needed to route through West Fukien to reach Swatow for forwarding to Hong Kong. Obviously the Tsungkow Military Control Commission adopted a leniency policy to allow silver yuan postage even three months after liberation, also Chaoan, a Kuomintang Contolled Area at the time was willing to handle mails from/to liberated area. A special case of Communist/Nationalist postal cooperation. HK$ 14,000 - 18,000
