Which town?

There were first of all the members of the community and their families, friends and associates; and, legitimately, there were the donors, their families and associates and there were those invited to contribute; and there were also, an obligation, the Government officials and the “very important persons”, a category which is most flexible and liable to varying interpretation, but which, in Indian society, cannot be ignored. And if all of these had right of access, how to refuse the same to the workers and their families and, by extension, to all the neighbors? And if those too were given this privilege, how to oppose the right of the public to directly appreciate this chef d’oeuvre?

Since the laying of its first stone, Her temple had been entirely financed by private donations and, to a certain extent since the Government had granted tax-exemption status on these donations, by public funds (the nation, the people, indirectly everyone). In what measure would the community be able to set and, in a way, to impose an equitable organization for all visitors whoever they may be, without compromising the very raison d’être and function of Her temple? Numerous factors had led to the decision of opening the access to the inner Chamber – in itself a kind of logistical feat, given the state of the construction site – long before its habitat could be fully materialized = first was the sense of the urgency for all participants to be enabled to learn and concentrate and receive the necessary directions; then the obvious need to invite and motivate more contributions and commitments; the will or wish to widely share a truly new approach and experience of the relation to the Divine, to the Creative Force and to the future of the Earth; and then, too, the desire on the part of some, that their work be recognized.
