Now that practical solutions were beginning to acquire precision, the works were hinging into a new phase: the cost of the following stages required to conform to R.’s elected model while aiming at the highest possible quality of perfection, in each and every detail and material as in the whole, was proving to be colossal. And even if funds would be flowing in, several years of intensive labor would be needed, once the main structure was complete, for the meticulous and painstaking realization of the gilded discs, of the paving and cladding of the twelve petals and ramps and the coloring of their inner rooms, of the ponds and fountains, of the translucent internal shell, of the two spiral ramps with their glass parapets, the marble mosaic on the intermediate floors and many further other ornamental details wanted by R. From the point of view of the required attention, simultaneous diversity of tasks and areas of action, apprenticeship, equanimity, communication and coordination, this would be an incomparable period of time for the integrality of its progression.

How to communicate to the country and to the world the evolutionary step the Matrimandir expresses? One had to be able to see it and enter it to begin to grasp its exemplary uniqueness = a temple without rituals or ceremony, without priests or invocations, where no incense is burnt, no flowers or fruits or delicacies are offered, where no one officiates or acts as an intermediary, where no prayer is sung, a temple where the silence of concentration reigns. This silence = a material silence never encountered anywhere, a physical silence opening onto an inner one in the presence of Consciousness, at once beyond and at the centre of space-time, it is this silence that will best
