GROUP FITNESS CLASSES The Community Center offers a variety of fitness classes for ages 12 and up (12 through 14-year-olds may participate when accompanied by a parent/guardian). Classes are taught by certified instructors in a comfortable setting with safety and fun in mind. Just scan your membership card when checking in at the front desk. Consult with your physician prior to beginning any new exercise program. Visit www.ShakopeeMN.gov or stop by the Community Center to pick up a current schedule.
RESTORATIVE YOGA De-stress and practice self-care with Restorative Yoga. Restorative Yoga is a practice that is all about slowing down and releasing through passive stretching and guided relaxation exercises. This special offering is intended to relax, renew and refresh your mind, body and spirit. Bolsters and other props are used. Please bring your own blanket, pillowcase and a tie or belt. Day Dates Time Cost Code SPECIALTY FITNESS CLASSES Beyond our drop-in classes that are included in membership, we have added some new fitness activities to explore. Classes below require participants to pre-register and may have an additional fee. WALKING YOGA This unique class offering will be led by a certified, experienced yoga instructor. Walking and yoga will be seamlessly combined. Experience fresh air, movement, and mindfulness to integrate your mind, body, and breath and to restore a sense of wholeness to yourself. Dress for moving and walking outdoors, rain or shine. Flexible footwear preferred. Social distancing protocols will be followed. Community Center, 1255 Fuller St. S. Day Dates Time Cost Code BARRE INTENSIVE WORKSHOPS Barre is a fusion of ballet, yoga, Pilates and strength training with an emphasis on body awareness, flexibility and correct posture. Movements are synced to energizing music while you strengthen and tone your entire body. During these Barre workshops, you will get all the regular benefits of a Barre class, but with a focus on certain muscle groups to challenge your mind and body.
