Joining forces after merger

New director Surface Technology, a specialist supplier of high performance surface treatments and metal finishings, has appointed Andrew Courtney as group operations director.

NDC Infrared Engineering and Beta LaserMike, both part of the Spectris family of companies and recognised worldwide in non-contacting measurement and control solutions, have merged to create NDC Technologies. The combination strengthens the new company’s position in the marketplace by offering a more comprehensive portfolio of gauging solutions with enhanced cross-selling oppor- tunities. In addition, the new operating model expands the company’s reach to better serve its growing global base of customers. Mr Courtney started his career as an apprentice engineer and gained experience in various industries before being appointed to the position of regional sales engineer at Surface Technology in 1988. With an HNC in mechanical and production engineering, he previously held the positions of operations director at Surface Technology’s Slough and Coventry facilities, respectively, and most recently was group sales and marketing director.
