MELA Meeting Minutes 2003 - 2017

1. Final Spring 2017 participation numbers will be presented to the group after TEO is complete for this term. 2. Brooke mentioned that many instructors sign up for TEO, and do not complete it. These participants sign up multiple times, and limit seats for those wanting to get in TEO. Brooke may need to develop a policy to prevent this, but will also get in touch with the colleges who have instructors who are re-enrolling and not completing.

ET Attendance Portal Updates 1. Ive has created an Enrollment Tool attendance feature in a BETA test

environment. Chris said it was very nice, with color, and looked a lot like the GradesFirst attendance software which was presented to the Attendance Sub- Committee group. This ET attendance feature will be ready to pilot for our Summer 2017 courses. It is not mandatory to use for Summer, but would be required for Fall 2017. A Summer pilot would help fix any bugs or usability issues that occur. a. The group should email Chris which reports we would like to see generated from the ET attendance piece. b. Discussions with college IT departments, and State Board IT folks, will need to be made regarding have attendance data connected with local SIS.

i. The SIS option will be in place by Fall. Colleges do not have to import into the SIS, unless they just want to. Raul will look to the ET attendance piece for audit, once the tool goes live. i. Only the instructor would have access to take attendance. The ELC cannot edit for the instructor. ii. Instructor will be able to go back and edit attendance for the current term (between begin and end dates).

1. Buffy Matthews made the motion to vote for President Elect position between Christa Wilhite and Kimberly Ellis. Jennifer James seconded. Motion carried. 1. Vote Result: Kimberly Ellis nominated for President-Elect for FY2018 2. Buffy Matthews made the motion to vote for Secretary position. Haley Duck was nominated. Jennifer James seconded. Motion carried. 1. Vote Result: Haley Duck nominated Secretary for FY2018.  If Haley is out for any reason, Christa Wilhite will fill in. 3. Screenshots of votes provided on last page of Minutes.
