i. Krista had conversations with the Munzos regarding the addition of AspireEdu in a traditional, face-to-face format. Chris will send a Google Doc to the group to see which schools are interested in a pilot to try the traditional aspect of AspireEdu.

c. Strategic Planning Committee Update i.

A survey was previously sent out by the Strategic Planning Committee regarding Sub-Committee role switches and reassignments. Several changes were made, and those individuals were contacted.

d. Virtual Meeting Agenda Items and Best Practices - Buffy Matthews i.

Buffy Matthews went over some best practices that the group should follow with our virtual meetings, as follows: 1. Good, quiet location, without interruptions. Votes are often needed, and full attention should be given to the meeting. 2. Do not add items to the agenda last minute, unless it is of urgency. Please meet the deadline for getting items added to the agenda. 3. When entering the virtual meeting, please include your full name and college to help the Secretary keep up with votes and attendance. (Kimberly Ellis added this through virtual chat.)

e. MELA Retreat 2017 - Kim Harris i.

MELA Retreat will be September 20-22 in Corinth, MS

ii. Kim will use part of the budget to pay the hotel expense (one room per college). Kim will send out a Google Sheet for an RSVP.

Action Items a. P&P Statement changes - Admin Committee (Tish) i. Under Learning Resources

1. Remove NBC Learn and Opposing Viewpoints from the list of Library Resources provided. ii. Bylaws Section:

1. Duties of Officers – President-Elect: remove the wording ‘summer’ 2. Duties of Officers – Secretary: remove the wording ‘summer’

a. VOTE: Admin Committee making a motion to make the above changes. Michele Mitchell seconded. All in favor. None opposed.

b. Canvas Contract and Addition of Catalog i.

Krista discussed the contact renewal for Canvas. 1. VOTE: Christa Wilhite made the motion to move forward with Canvas. Buffy Matthews seconded. Motion moved forward with 11 votes received. ii. Krista discussed the addition of Canvas Catalog to the Canvas contract. The Catalog helps streamline processes (costs, certificates, reports, etc.) for institution professional development. A project manager would be provided to each college, along with training and IT assistance. 1. Hinds will use the Catalog in the Fall 2017 term. Many schools agreed they would like to see how Hind’s use of Catalog goes, and receive feedback from them before adopting Catalog for the consortium. In the meantime, the group
