church and has added a library to the , rectory and redecorated the interior of the house. All the deco- rations and renovations, and a11 the appointments reveal excellent taste. In the church itself, Father Van Garsse has also covered the sanc- tuary, the main aisle, and the bap- tistry with rubber tile. Liturgical Altar The altar, of liturgical design, is of composition material, with onyx and mosaic trim. The altar has a background of velour drape, and a baldacchinum of the same material, fringed with gold braid and surmounted by the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe encircled by electric lights. Assisting the Most Reverend Bishop as deacons of honor were the Rev. David P. McAstocker, S.J., and his brother, the Rev. John McAstocker, S.J. Father Van Garsse, the pastor, celebrated the Solemn High Mass which followed the blessing. The Rev. Paul A. Conneely, pastor of St. Anthony's Church, Casa Blan- ca served as deacon, and the Rev. L~is Valdes, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Belltown, as subdeacon. Mr. Joseph R. Cervan- tes was master of ceremonies.
