Purpose
In accordance with the Comprehensive Plan, the Neighborhood Activity Center District provides for
moderate scale, mixed-use activity centers that serve as convenient, walkable service and retail
destinations for surrounding neighborhoods. It is intended to support a mix of residential, retail, cultural,
entertainment, and office opportunities in a mixed-use village center, with street-level uses that generate
pedestrian activity and upper-story uses that provide complementary residential and employment uses to
“keep the street level active.” Land uses should include a mix of uses, such as housing, commercial and
office uses, restaurants, entertainment, personal and household service uses, institutional uses, public
facilities and parks, and similar uses meeting the needs of occupants of the district and adjoining
neighborhoods.
