4.3.5. Accessory Use-Specific Standards

b.

Screening Requirements

Unless otherwise provided in Section

4.3.5.B.20.c, Standards for Specific Principal Uses,

the

following requirements shall apply to all outdoor storage areas.

(1)

The outdoor storage area shall be screened by an opaque fence or wall at least eight

feet in height (see

Section 5.14, Fences and Walls)

.

(2)

Stored goods and materials shall be screened from view from all property lines and

adjacent rights-of-way, sidewalks, streets, and greenways.

(3)

Stored goods and materials shall not exceed the height of the fence required in subsection

(1) above.

(4)

Equipment can exceed the fence height required in subsection

(1) above,

but should be

stored in a manner that limits visibility from the line of sight from all street rights-of-way.

Standards for Specific Principal Uses

(1)

Garden Centers

(A)

Outdoor storage areas attached to

the principal structure shall be

enclosed with either a wall made of

masonry material consistent with that

of the primary building(s) on the lot,

or a combination of masonry columns

and metal fencing. (See Figure

4.3.5.B.20.c(1):

Masonry and Metal

Fence Enclosure.)

(B)

Outdoor storage areas not attached

to the principal structure can be located to the front of the development’s principal

building(s) provided that the outdoor storage area is enclosed by fencing at least

four feet in height and constructed of aluminum, steel, iron, or similar material with

unpainted masonry columns

(See Figure

5.14.8.A.4:

(C)

Outdoor storage areas not

attached to the principal

structure or located in the

front of the development’s

principal building(s) shall be

screened in accordance with

the screening requirement in

(B) above

or Section

4.3.5.B.20.b(1).

(D)

Stored goods, materials and

equipment shall be limited to

those goods, materials, and equipment associated with the principal use or uses of

the lot.

(E)

Stored goods and materials, with the exception of plants, shall not exceed the

height of the fence required in

(A), (B),

or

(C) above.
