ANUFACTURING

EDIUM

The manufacturing of products from processed or unprocessed raw materials, where the finished product

is noncombustible and nonexplosive, including processing, fabrication, assembly, treatment, and

packaging of such products, and incidental storage, sales, and distribution of such products, provided all

manufacturing activities are contained entirely within a building. This manufacturing may produce noise,

odor, smoke, heat, glare, and vibration resulting from the manufacturing activities that is perceptible to

adjacent land users, but is not offensive or obnoxious. Odors produced on-site shall not have a material

negative effect on other businesses or properties in the area. This does not include uses constituting a

light industrial assembly use. Examples of this medium manufacturing include, but are not limited to:

glass products made from manufactured glass, products made from rubber, plastic, or resin; converted

paper and cardboard products; fabricated metal products made from semi-finished metals.

ALUE

For purposes of floodplain management, the building value, not including the land value and that of any

accessory structures or other improvements on the lot. Market value may be established by independent

certified appraisal; replacement cost depreciated for age of building and quality of construction (Actual

Cash Value); or adjusted tax assessed values.

A permanent canopy, often constructed of metal and glass, that projects over the entrance of a building,

generally a place of assembly such as a cinema, theater, auditorium, or arena.

For purposes of floodplain management, the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) corrected in

1988, or other vertical control datum used as a reference for establishing varying elevations within the

floodplain, to which Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) shown on a FIRM are referenced. Refer to each FIRM

panel to determine datum used.

A security interest in the title to real or personal property for the benefit of those who have supplied
