E2S Warning Signals has developed a
comprehensive range of LED beacons
for use as warning beacons and
status indicators for systems installed
in hazardous areas and industrial
environments. The LED units, using a
multiple array of high power white Cree
LEDs, offer significant advantages over
traditional Xenon strobe technology
in many applications. The typical light
output level from the LED units is 338
candela, significantly higher than the
120 candela effective intensity of a 5J
Xenon tube unit. E2S LED beacons have
five flash rates for warning beacon and
have high and low power steady modes
for status indicator uses – enhancing
the typical life of more than 60 000
hours. DC voltage versions feature three
remotely selectable stages enabling
multiple warnings to be signalled from
one device.
The same light engines and
control electronics are at the heart
of beacons available in all product
families in the E2S range. The STEx
(316L stainless steel), the GNEx and
E2x (GRP) and BEx and D2x (marine
grade LM6 aluminium enclosures), are
all available with the new generation
of LEDs, providing a variety of
mechanical protection, corrosion
resistance, weight, and price to suit
different environmental requirements
and applications. The polycarbonate,
UV stable lenses are available as
spare items in amber, blue, clear,
green, magenta, red, and yellow.
Whilst enhancing the light output, the
lens filters are also field replaceable
enabling the reassignment of beacon
function to be a simple and quick
process.

When it comes to selecting outdoor light-
ing, function tends to take precedence. But
you do not want to have to compromise
on aesthetics and with the Fumagalli collection of
outdoor luminaires there is no need to.
The Italian brand’s latest range offers the
ultimate ‘fix and forget’ solution to a myriad outdoor
lighting requirements. The new coastal-quality
luminaires, available in South Africa exclusively
from Eurolux, are designed to withstand the effects
of the harshest climatic conditions, including the
corrosive coastal air.
Fumagalli products are produced using high
quality raw materials and components, explains
Shaun Bouchier, director at Eurolux. The specialised
resin formulation, used in all its products, is self-
coloured and UV stabilised. “This means that the
fittings are virtually maintenance-free and will not
discolour or fade, even in the brightest sunlight,”
he says.
Tried, tested and trusted, the new models in the
range, the Lucia and the Maddi LED Bulkheads, offer
the material and technological superiority come to
be expected from the Italian brand.
The round Lucia is available with ring, eyelet and
guard covers that are suitable for wall, ceiling and
post installation. Its polycarbonate base is avail-
able, on request, in black, grey and white, to create
an elegant and customised ambience. The Lucia’s
printed circuit board is fitted with 150 LED x 6 lm,
ensuring uniform light distribution and, by adding
the Remi Bracket, the lamp can be angled at 35°.
The Maddi is an oval bulkhead, available with the
same cover conversions as the Lucia and is also
suitable for wall, ceiling and post installation. It is
as functional in commercial and public spaces as
it is in residential areas, and works as well indoors
as it does outdoors. The Maddi bulkhead can only
be mounted vertically when used in conjunction
with the Remi bracket and provides a lifetime of
30 000 hours.
“In the Lucia and Maddi ranges the eyelet cover
is particularly popular, as the top half of the lamp
is covered so the light is reflected down onto the
ground and glare is reduced,” says Bouchier.
The Fumagalli range comes with a lifetime
warranty.
